Resurrection and Judgment

CONNECT
  • What in the message most stood out to you? What do you think God is telling you through this message?
  • What is one thing you’d like to do before you die? Why?
WORD
  • “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” -John 5:24
  • Some people believe that death is the complete end of life. However, the Bible teaches us that we can gain eternal life. This belief is hinged on Jesus’ promise that those who truly believe in Him will receive the forgiveness of sins and have eternal life. Jesus’ resurrection assures us that we can hope in the resurrection of the dead (1 Corinthians 15:12)
APPLICATION
  • How did the death and resurrection of Christ change the way you view life and death? the way you view others?
  • Read 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. What kind of crown do we train for? What do we need to exercise so we can obtain the prize? How can you apply these (self-control and discipline) in your daily life?
PRAYER
  • Pray that the gospel would continue to be preached and more disciples would be made through the church. Intercede for your family members and friends who have  not received Christ as their Lord and Savior. Pray for opportunities to present the gospel to them, even this week.
